St. Edward Preparatory Academy, Elgin – Elderwerks strives to provide education, referrals and guidance to older adults regarding senior living, home care and support services. They are hosting the Senior Latino Expo on November 16 from 2:30 -7:30 p.m. in Elgin.
Towards the middle of November this year Elderwerks will be hosting the Latino Senior Expo to support the aging Latino population in Illinois. Topics such as Fraud and Scams, Resources for Older Adults and Seniors, Advanced Care Planning for Healthcare and Healthy Aging will all be addressed during the 5-hour event.
President and Founder of Elderwerks Jennifer Prell has a clear goal for this event: helping older adults and seniors plan for the future. She said as much when asked about the motivation behind this expo. “The Latino Senior Expo has been put together to support this important demographic. Those who are taking care of loved ones, older adults, seniors and their families are all welcome to this educational event. Our goal is to help older adults and seniors plan for future needs and this expo will help them do exactly that.”
Mainstreet Senior Services Chair Roshaunta Lewis, SRES, encourages Mainstreet members to support Elderwerks for this event. “Attending the Latino Senior Expo addresses the needs of the growing aging population. It’s crucial to provide resources and services to seniors for their future well-being. Collaborating with other agencies is the desired approach to expand and enhance the services our committee [at Mainstreet] can offer. We are thrilled to work with our long-standing partner, Elderwerks.”
The Latino Senior Expo is on November 16 in the St. Joseph Catholic gymnasium of St. Edward Catholic Preparatory Academy located at 274 Division Street in Elgin, IL 60120.
