Last Chance to Lobby! Capitol Conference is Next Week.

Capitol Conference is around the corner, and there is still room for you to join us on the Mainstreet bus! But are you hesitant because you haven’t attended before? Intimidated by the opportunity to speak with your legislator? Well you can rest easy (and register) when you find out what Capitol Conference is really about.

What is Capitol Conference?
Capitol Conference a day when REALTORS® from all over the state go to Springfield to lobby for issues that are impacting homeownership and property rights.

Why go to Capitol Conference?
This is the time to have your voice heard. Whether you lobby a little or a lot, speak with your legislator, or only speak with peers; people are there and will hear your voice. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about pressing laws that can and will affect you, your business, and your clients.

First Time Attending?
Don’t worry! There will be hundreds of REALTORS® in attendance, many in the same situation as you. The day is completely mapped out for you so you don’t need to worry about how you will fill your day. If you’re worried about not knowing enough about what’s happening down at the capitol, don’t be! This experience is supposed to be educational, so you will learn everything you need to know when you’re there.

What to do at Capitol Conference?
Although the schedule is already planned out for you, the day is what you make of it. Lobby with your fellow REALTORS® from around the state, talk with your local legislator, network with hundreds of REALTORS®, the options are almost limitless.

What to do after Capitol Conference?
Like everything else, all good things have to come to an end. Make sure when you get home to share that you attended the 2019 Capitol Conference. Post on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, write a blog...tell the world you went! Sharing this information will not only help attract attention to next year's conference, but it will also show your clients that you do more than just sell homes, that you are out there fighting for them every day. Then ask yourself two questions, “Did I learn something new?” and, “How did I make a difference?”

Capitol Conference is free for all Mainstreet members and if you haven’t registered yet, there's still a few spots left on our buses. The event is April 30th in Springfield, Illinois. You can register for bus transportation from Arlington Heights, Downers Grove, or Tinley Park. Don’t want to take advantage of the free transportation? You still need to register, just select, “no bus – driving myself.”
